As the Principal of the firm, Jaleh oversees the operation, advice, and legal services of the firm. She comes from a professional background of financial management, programming, project implementation, information management, and emergency assistance functions in various agencies of the United Nations across the globe including United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), and United Nations Information Centre (UNIC).
Jaleh studied law at Australian National University and graduated with Honours. Since graduation, Jaleh has worked with the Department of Immigration’s litigation section, with national and local private law firms, and with Welfare Rights and Legal Centre, Canberra’s community legal centre. She established Johannessen Legal and Migration in 2006.
Against this wealth of knowledge and experience, Jaleh has an exceptional understanding of the law, and of the clients’ needs, anxieties, concerns and expectations.

Pierre joins the firm as an Associate, an Australian Human Rights activist, journalist and recipient of the ACT Young Australian of the Year award for 2010.
With a decade of experience as a paralegal, office manager and junior at a range of small, medium and national firms, Pierre is a natural litigator with exposure to all aspects of legal practice.
